A reminder to parents that NAPLAN commences on Tuesday next week. Students will need a set of headphones to bring each day of the testing that have either a USB or plug in port.
Tuesday - Reading
Wednesday – Writing and Language conventions
Thursday - Numeracy
The information we receive from these assessments help us to determine how the school and students are going with their learning over time. This year will be the first opportunity students in Year 7 have had to do NAPLAN since Year 3, and students in Year 9 since Year 5.
The Public demonstration site ( https://www.nap.edu.au/online-assessment/public-demonstration-site ) and sample questions have been used with students to model applying strategies to reading and interpreting questions, looking for context clues in questions to determine what is being asked, and how to answer. A sample copy of these presentations and notes are attached.
