Online Learning
Students are expected to be following their normal timetabled classes and engage in their lessons online throughout the day. All google classroom codes have been communicated via the school’s Facebook page during the first week of term and can be found below. Alternatively, students can arrange with their Year Advisor or classroom teachers to have hard copies printed which can be collected from the front office. When online, students need to ensure that they are notifying the classroom teacher of their attendance and submitting the work for each lesson.
Learning at home without technology
Students who require the use of a laptop and would like to borrow one can do so through the front office. Only students can enter the office, if parents and carers could please not enter the office that would be much appreciated.

If any student is having issues logging into their NVHS.net login then they can email itsupport@nvhs.net and a member of our technology team can reset their password and assist with technology support.
Student Services – Learning Support
Students who would like to be contacted by the Head Teacher Wellbeing, School Counsellor or Year Advisor are welcome to complete the ‘Wellbeing Referral Form’. Once completed you will be contacted by one of the wellbeing team members.

Learning and Student Support - Google Classroom
Any student can join the google classroom listed below and post a message with the subject or task that they would like help with and then either an SLSO or LAST will get in contact with the individual. This platform has been created to continue to support students while they are online learning. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Blacksnakes Book Club
Our resident Librarian, Ms Thomas has set up a google classroom called ‘Blacksnakes Book Club’. This classroom is a creative space in which we can share any great books we have been reading but also to share any creative writing we have been doing during lockdown - stories, poems, songs, scripts, graphic fiction...
You can post on the stream which means everyone can read your work and offer feedback OR you can head to the classroom and submit pieces that Ms Thomas will be able to offer feedback on.

Children’s Book Council of Australia 2021 award for best book for older readers with her young adult fiction. Bell’s book is a genre-bender: part magical realism, part dystopian, part psychological thriller; there’s a coming-of-age storyline and a romance plot.
Ms Thomas will be checking the classroom daily and adding new novel recommendations.

All NVHS ATSI students are encouraged to use this Google classroom to communicate with our Aboriginal Educational Officers Bruce and Kay. They are available to support our ATSI student with any questions they have about their class work. Bruce and Kay love the student involvement and connection on this platform while we are all online learning.
