Community involvement
At Narara Valley High School, we believe strong connections with our local community play an important role in creating opportunities for our students and strengthening our school. We are proud to work alongside local organisations, businesses, families and community groups to support student learning, wellbeing and future pathways.
Through community partnerships, students have opportunities to participate in work experience, vocational learning, community events, mentoring, fundraising and local initiatives. These experiences help students develop valuable skills, build confidence and understand the positive contribution they can make within their community.
We value the support of our community and the many people who contribute their time, knowledge and expertise to our school. Together, we are helping our students connect, contribute and thrive.
Coast Shelter
Our students volunteer their time to support the wonderful work of Coast Shelter, showing compassion, kindness and generosity through their service to others. They spend the evening cooking and serving dinner, demonstrating a genuine commitment to helping people in our community. We are incredibly proud of our students and the positive difference they make through their actions, and we thank them for representing our school with such care and generosity.
Red Shield Appeal
We are incredibly proud of our students who generously volunteer their time at the West Gosford McDonald’s Red Shield Appeal collection in support of The Salvation Army.
Their enthusiasm, kindness and willingness to give back to the community helps raise valuable funds to support people in need. It is wonderful to see our students representing Narara Valley High School with such compassion, resilience and community spirit, demonstrating the positive difference they can make through their actions.
Central Coast Kids Day Out
Narara Valley High School is proud to host Central Coast Kids Day Out (CCKDO) on our school grounds each year. The largest event for kids on the Central Coast, CCKDO brings families and the wider community together for a day filled with fun, entertainment, information and excitement for the whole family.
Held annually, this much-loved community event provides a fantastic opportunity for children and families to enjoy a range of activities, entertainment and community services in a welcoming and family-friendly environment.
Community Yarn Up
Our Community Yarn Up provides a welcoming space for students, families, staff and community members to come together, connect and share stories, knowledge and experiences. It is an opportunity to build strong relationships, celebrate culture and community, and create meaningful connections across our school. Through open conversations, shared experiences and a spirit of respect and inclusion, our Yarn Up helps strengthen our sense of belonging and supports a connected and caring school community.
Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)
Our school values strong partnerships between families, staff, and the wider community. While we currently do not have an active Parents & Citizens (P&C) association, we are eager to establish one to help support our students and enhance school programs.
An active P&C provides a fantastic opportunity for parents, carers, and community members to collaborate, share ideas, and contribute to the school’s success. Your involvement can make a real difference, from fundraising and event planning to advocating for student needs and fostering a supportive school environment.
If you’re interested in being part of this exciting initiative and helping us build a vibrant P&C, we’d love to hear from you! Please contact the school office to find out how you can get involved and help shape the future of our school community.
