English

In our English programs, students explore how language and texts shape our understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Through engaging with a diverse range of literature—including voices from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and cultures worldwide—students develop a deep appreciation of different perspectives and experiences.

Our programs build literacy skills, where students progressively build their ability to interpret, create, and control language across a variety of complex contexts. By studying historical and contemporary texts, they gain confidence in expressing their identities, values, and ethics.

Our English curriculum fosters critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication, empowering students to become informed, active participants in society. We teach texts and provide learning experiences which aim to be relevant to their lives.
